<p>Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has ended up becoming one of the year’s greatest hits. Ranbir Kapoor played a violent and vindictive son in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga movie, while Anil Kapoor played his father. In the film, Charu Shankar portrayed the mother of Ranbir Kapoor. Charu is just a year older than Ranbir in real life. In a Bollywood Hungama interview, the actress discussed what inspired her to accept the role.</p>

<p><strong>Regarding her collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor, Charu</strong><br />
Charu Shankar said, “That is true—we (Her and Ranbir) are only one year apart,” in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. And why would I say no, being an actor? This was a chance, and it was a very thrilling one. When Sandeep told the narrative, I was aware of the characters and the plot of the movie. It struck me as being very unique and fascinating. And he told me right away that he wanted me to have a major role in his movie. I want you to identify the main conflict of the movie as soon as possible. That convinced me. Yeah, I thought to myself.</p>
<p>The actress also disclosed her method of casting. “I can still see myself in a kurta and pants. While I’m relaxing and thinking that we came early, Sandeep enters, passes us, and heads to his office. “Who’s that?” he asks, ringing in his AD. “That’s Charu Shankar, you know, you’d asked for a meeting,” they say. “All right, call her in,” he said. She said, “It’s nice to meet you, thank you for coming all the way, but I have to tell you, you’re too young,” as soon as I walked in. After the director finished telling the narrative, she waited six months to hear back from the casting director to confirm that she had the role.</p>
<p><strong>Charu discusses shooting an animal</strong><br />
According to Charu, her persona functions similarly to Animal’s “voice of reason.” She went on to say that working alongside Anil and Ranbir Kapoor on her first day had made her a bit anxious. She also said that she and Anil Kapoor had been planning a project together for years, but it was never completed. She also said how Anil Kapoor recalled that from the very first day. During the film’s production, she also said that she became closer to Rashmika Mandanna, who portrays Ranbir Kapoor’s wife Geetanjali.</p>
<p>One of the highest-grossing Indian movies of the year is Animal. Vanga has voiced his dissatisfaction with the criticism of it being called out for being highly violent and sexist. Prem Chopra, Suresh Oberoi, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri are also in Animal. It was released on December 1 and is supported by Bhushan and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios, and Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures.</p>
