NEW DELHI: Dreaded gangster Tillu Tajpuriya was killed in an attack by rival gang members inside Tihar Jail in Delhi. As per ANI reports on, Tajpuriya was attacked by Yogesh Tunda and others inside the jail.Tajpuriya was the main accused in the Rohini court shootout case in September 2021. Police said Tajpuriya was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Another prisoner, identified as Rohit, was also injured in the attack. He is said to be out of danger now.”Today morning at around 7am, information was received from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital regarding two undertrial prisoners who were brought to the hospital from Tihar Jail. One of them, Sunil alias Tillu was brought in an unconscious state. He was later declared brought dead. Another person, Rohit is undergoing treatment and is out of danger,” said additional DCP West district, Akshat Kaushal.Prison officials said that further probe into the incident is under way.
How the attack happened
According to prison officials, the Gogi gang members were lodged on the first floor of the high-security ward from where they cut open the security grill and jumped on the ground floor using bedsheets.Tillu, lodged on the ground floor of the same ward, was attacked by four inmates affiliated to rival Gogi gang (Deepak, Yogesh, Rajesh & Riyaz Khan) lodged in the first floor of the same ward at around 06.15am. The assailants reportedly used an improvised sua for the attack.”Yogesh alias Tunda and Deepak alias Teetar attacked Tillu Tajpuriya by breaking the iron grills of the ward which separated both gangs in the same ward,” the official said.Watch Gangster Tillu Tajpuriya, accused in Rohini court shootout, killed by rival gang in Tihar jail
