<p>Sai Sudharsan’s life in South Africa has been somewhat unpredictable since he made his national team debut by smashing two half-centuries in a row. On Sunday, December 17, Sudharsan made his debut in the first One-Day International (ODI) match against the Proteas. He marked the occasion with a brilliant 55 not out as India triumphed by eight wickets.</p>

<p>In a losing cause, he then backed it up with an outstanding 62 in the second ODI. Even though the 22-year-old was only able to muster 10 runs in the series finale, he still made an impression on the field.</p>
<p>Heinrich Klaasen was dismissed by Sudharsan with a breathtaking catch. The event occurred in the match’s 33rd over when Sudharsan leaped forward to take the catch of the series after Klaasen chipped Avesh Khan’s ball straight to mif-off.</p>

<p>The majority of India’s players who led their team to the World Cup final last month were absent when they landed in South Africa. But they convincingly won two of the three games.</p>
<p>Arshdeep Singh excelled at taking on the task. He was voted player of the series after taking ten wickets in the series, including four for thirty on Thursday.</p>
<p>When the third wicket fell to Tony de Zorzi (87) and Markram (36), taking the total to 141 in the 26th over, South Africa was in a strong position.</p>
<p>However, the batting collapsed when Markram gloved a reverse sweep attempt from Washington Sundar to wicketkeeper Rahul, and 20 runs later, De Zorzi went leg before wicket to Arshdeep.</p>
<p>As India won the series 2-1, KL Rahul hailed his bunch of young players.</p>
<p>Rahul said, “It’s a really young group of players,” at the post-game announcement. Although they haven’t competed internationally, they have played a lot of cricket.</p>
<p>“The advice was to give them time to acclimate to playing cricket internationally and to become accustomed to pressure.” Enjoy yourself at first, then after a few games, begin to anticipate things from them.”</p>
