The Indian team, which also included Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mukesh Kumar, played the series with a lengthy tail. Axar Patel, a spin-all-rounder, batted at position seven.

India finished with a score of 165/9 in the series-deciding game after failing to pick up speed in the last overs. With two overs remaining, West Indies reached the goal.

“I believe that with the group we have here, we may not have had the freedom to sometimes switch up the lineups. But I believe that moving ahead, we must consider those areas where we can improve.

“One thing we’ve been working on is adding depth to our batting. We are doing all we can to be as successful as we can, but it is unquestionably an area we can examine: how to maintain a strong bowling attack without jeopardizing our batting depth.

On the other hand, West Indies’ team was full of bowling all-rounders, with Alzarri Joseph entering at number 11.

“As these matches go and the margins of victory increase, West Indies has Alzarri Joseph, who can strike a wicked ball, coming in at No. 11. You thus have sides with that depth.

Clearly, we have difficulties in that area, and we must address them. We need to develop on that depth, the India coach said, adding that this series has undoubtedly shown us that.

In the T20 series, Tilak Varma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Mukesh Kumar all made their debuts, and Dravid was pleased by each of them. In the series, Varma made his international debut and demonstrated that he was here to stay.

“I believed that all three of the three individuals who made their series debuts for us stood up. I believed Yashasvi Jasiwal played a really nice innings in the fourth game. It was good to see him repeat that performance in international cricket after he had already shown his abilities in the IPL.

“Tilak Varma, in my opinion, was a great middle order addition. He sometimes entered into really challenging circumstances. However, he always plays with great desire, acts extremely constructively, and tries to advance the game. He also fielded well throughout the series and proved to us that he can bowl one or two overs.

Tilak is showing extremely encouraging indications, and having that left-hander in the middle of the order makes a big difference when playing against some of the assaults we’ve been up against.

Mukesh played his first game for India in the Test and 50-over formats before making his T20 debut.

He made his debut in every format in this series, and I felt he did a great job. Because of his propensity to bowl at the very end, he was sometimes had to bowl against some extremely strong, hard-hitting opponents, and considering that this was only his fourth or fifth game, he performed well.

So I believe the lads that made their debuts for us have some very big qualities, and I hope they gain confidence from the series and continue to grow in the future.

A couple of our players are returning from injuries for the Asia Cup.

Prior to the Asia Cup and World Cup at home, the emphasis is still on the ODI format.

Jasprit Bumrah, K L Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer were among the injured players that Dravid said would participate in the Asia Cup.

Beginning on August 18, Bumrah’s return series will be against Ireland.

In any case, we have a few players returning from injury. They must be given the chance to compete (in the Asia Cup). For the Asia Cup, we will begin a one-week training in Bengaluru on August 23. We’ll deal with it when it arises, he continued.
