The Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja worked his magic, dismissing the Australian middle order batsmen Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne in consecutive overs before taking the wicket of Alex Carey. With three rapid dismissals, including two in one over, the 34-year-old confounded the five-time World Cup champions while playing at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, his second home with the Chennai Super Kings.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-224027″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-cop-fires-at-tourist-site-in-alexandria-causing-the-death-of-2-israelis-in-egypt-d.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com cop fires at tourist site in alexandria causing the death of 2 israelis in egypt d” width=”1322″ height=”880″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-cop-fires-at-tourist-site-in-alexandria-causing-the-death-of-2-israelis-in-egypt-d.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/theindiaprint.com-cop-fires-at-tourist-site-in-alexandria-causing-the-death-of-2-israelis-in-egypt-d-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1322px) 100vw, 1322px” title=”Virat Kohli responds to Ravindra Jadeja's Angry Spell that Angers the Former Australian World Cup Winner 3″>

Before getting Marnus Labuschagne in the 30th over of Australia’s inning, Jadeja removed Smith, who was comfortably placed at 46, in the span of only nine balls. Carey took the field to bat when Labuschagne turned around, but he was also dismissed LBW after facing only two balls.

Following Mitchell Marsh’s early removal, David Warner and Smith formed an alliance until Kuldeep Yadav removed the opener. Before Jadeja took three wickets in his damaging stint, Kuldeep, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Labuschagne put Smith and Labuschagne under pressure.

When Smith was stumped by Ravindra Jadeja’s unplayable delivery on the first ball of the 27th over, Australia had fallen to 119/5 from 110/3. Smith came out to meet the ball as it drifted in toward the leg-stump, but it clipped the top of the off-stump instead. Unable to comprehend how the ball had gotten past his defense, Smith could only muster a wry grin.

Along with praising his partner, Virat Kohli mentioned Jadeja’s brilliant delivery. Ravindra Jadeja eliminated Marnus in the next over with yet another tease. Another fuller ball was produced, and the Australian batsman attempted to slogsweep it, but KL Rahul grabbed a fine catch and the batsman ended up giving up a run. Labuschagne requested a DRS review because he couldn’t believe it had been given out, but ultraedge said he had really edged it.

Carey then came out to bat and after playing a dot ball was also dismissed LBW; it was a stump-to-stump delivery as the wicketkeeper batter failed to get the bat in front in time and was struck right in front of the stumps; after having a conversation with Glenn Maxwell, the batter ultimately decided against requesting another review.

Former Australian World Cup champion Darren Lehmann said the performance was just “not good” in response to the abrupt collapse.

Following Carey’s removal, Kohli and Rohit rejoiced over the wicket before Maxwell was removed by Kuldeep Yadav and Cameron Green by Ashwin, bringing Australia’s total to 140/7.
