If the accusations are true, I'll hang myself, said Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and a BJP member, said on Wednesday that if the charges against him are confirmed, he would “hang” himself.
At a public gathering in this UP area, Singh threatened to hang himself if even one accusation against him were to be found to be true.
Singh made fun of the wrestlers for declaring they would throw their medals into the Ganga as a form of protest against him.
“Four months have passed, and they still want to hang me. They gathered in Haridwar on Tuesday and threatened to throw their medals into the Ganga since the government is not hanging me. This is just emotional theatre and won't result in the punishment they want for me, he added.
“I'm willing to face any penalty, so if you (the wrestlers) have any proof, submit it in court. The incident is being looked upon by Delhi Police. If the accusations made by the wrestlers were true, I would have been taken into custody, he said.
Meanwhile, to debate the issue of wrestlers, Bhartiya Kisan Union President Naresh Tikait has asked for a Maha Panchayat on Thursday in Muzaffarnagar.
Tuesday, Tikait went to Haridwar to talk with the wrestlers about not throwing their medals into the Ganga River. He declared his support for their demonstration against the BJP MP.
