This actress was Barbie's first choice before Margot Robbie

It is difficult to envision anybody else playing the main part in the Barbie movie other than Margot Robbie now that the posters and trailer have been out. She wasn't, however, the initial candidate for the part of Barbie, did you know that? Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman fame was the first choice for the part, according to Margot Robbie, who is also involved with the movie as a producer, who spoke to Variety. Gal Gadot, in their opinion, embodies the certain indescribable blend of beauty and enthusiasm that director Greta Gerwig and Robbie were searching for throughout the casting process. Gal Gadot is the spirit of Barbie. Gal Gadot is almost nerdy in how sweet and true she is, despite the fact that she is very gorgeous. As a result, you don't resent her for being so beautiful. It's like just before becoming a nerd,” Margot added. Gal Gadot was unable to join the project, however, owing to schedule issues.
Amy Schumer was selected as the protagonist for Sony's live-action Barbie film back in 2016 before considering Gadot. She had to abandon the project, nevertheless, owing to scheduling issues. Later, Anne Hathaway was given consideration for the part, but these films were never big successes. Robbie chose to become a producer for this movie when she learned about the possibility because “the word itself is more globally recognized than practically everything else other than Coca-Cola.”
Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken in the film, is Margot Robbie's co-star and has shared how Robbie helped him get the part. Gosling said that Robbie left him a pink-bowed present every day on the shoot. All of these presents had a nautical theme, including puka shells or a placard that said, “Pray for surf.” Gosling said that he didn't entirely get their importance, but he saw them as Robbie trying to help him understand Ken's beach-centric attitude.
Despite having some reservations, Ryan opted to try out for the role of Ken: “Ken wasn't exactly on my bucket list. To be honest however, I don't have a bucket list. I so decided to try it.
The star-studded ensemble of Barbie, which includes Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Hari Nef, Emma Mackey, Dua Lipa, Sharon Rooney, Ana Cruz Kayne, Alexandra Shipp, Kate McKinnon, and more, is set to arrive in theaters on July 21.
