The postseason transfer market may be used by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to bolster his team's defense.
Since James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita will all be departing Anfield at the conclusion of the current season, much has been said about the Reds' need to strengthen a faltering midfield.
However, Klopp is ready to strengthen other aspects of his team.
Prior to this weekend's game against Aston Villa, he said on Friday, “We look in other areas except from goalie at the moment.
“Yes, I wouldn't argue against it if there is a good one out there.”
Outgoing sports director Julian Ward is said to have already picked some of Liverpool's targets, while former Wolfsburg manager Jorg Schmadtke is being mentioned as a potential replacement.
The Reds manager emphasized that if it did happen, it would not be a “Jurgen Klopp signing” because we are both German or because we are acquainted.
“That wouldn't be connected in any way.
I am aware of his goodness and intelligence. Very successful, very excellent at what he did in Germany.
We might discuss Michael Zorc, who served as Klopp's sports director at Borussia Dortmund. Zorc is in a similar circumstance and age group; he has been retired for a little longer, but I am much more familiar with him.
You wouldn't believe the quality of some of the sports directors in Germany.
