The 76th Festival de Cannes is scheduled to start on May 16 and end on May 27. Every year, the world's top actors and directors walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in this town on the French Riviera. At the event, which annually features displays of eye-catching fashion moments, several Indian superstars also walk. Deepika Padukone was named as one of the eight members of the Cannes Film Festival jury last year. And Deepika made her official judging debut in a stylish saree that incorporated both her Indian roots and a Western flair for the international stage.
Even though Deepika Padukone has previously made a number of appearances on the Cannes red carpet, her admirers will always remember the time she walked the carpet as a jury member. And she did not let us down when she decided to work with the well-known Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. If Sabyasachi and Deepika are skilled at anything, it is putting together an attention-grabbing outfit. They opted for a bustier top, a mustard and black sequin-embellished saree, and striking makeup. For more information about her appearance, scroll through.
Deepika Padukone wore a Sabyasachi saree with mustard and black sequins embroidered in striped patterns modeled by Bengal tigers for her first appearance on the Cannes Film Festival jury. The six yards were designed by Sabyasachi as a part of his Aakash Tara line, which honors traditional Indian crafts and processes through a contemporary perspective. The greatest karigars at Sabyasachi's atelier used block printing and hand embroidery to create the stripes on the saree.
Deepika accessorized the saree with a black strapless bustier top with a cut hem length, a plunge sweetheart neckline, and glittering black sequin embellishments. She completed the traditional but contemporary outfit with a matha patti worn as a headband, chandelier earrings, statement rings, and stiletto Louboutin shoes.
Last but not least, Deepika chose a 1960s-inspired glam that included a messy beehive-style updo, eyeliner inspired by Julia Fox, thick mascara on the lashes, feathery brows, a neutral mauve lip color, a ewy foundation, rouged cheeks, and subtle contouring.
