Global superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been in the news since she and her husband Nick Jonas attended the Met Gala in 2023. She most recently made a guest appearance on the Howard Stern Show. The star of the Citadel spoke about her career life, parents, marriage, winning Miss World, and growing up in America during the conversation. When Priyanka returned to India as a teenager after studying in the US, she described how her father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, reacted. She said that her father had their windows locked because of the attention she was getting from guests.
“My dad was really paranoid because he sent a 12-year-old to America with braids and trying to be cool, so I got my hair blown out,” Priyanka Chopra stated. The only thing I'd ever done was return after being exposed to all of these American hormones and food. I'm a touch more feminine than my father would have anticipated at the age of 16. When I went back to India, boys followed me home, and I peacocked in this little town just like I had in my American high school. One of them jumped into my balcony at night. My father said, “F*** this, bars, all your jeans are confiscated, you're going to wear Indian suits, nothing,” as a result. My driver was nervous as he drove me about. I realize, but then I had my career. I am really sorry about my father.
Priyanka acknowledged that as a teenager, she was unable to see the seriousness of the issue, but she also said that her father made sure she abided by a set of guidelines after “she hit puberty”. I didn't comprehend the seriousness of it, PeeCee continued. I thought I was invincible. That's what I'm contemplating right now. I don't know how I got away with this stupidity. But what really got to me was the sense of invincibility that I could get away with anything. However, not on that particular day when a stranger was waiting outside my bedroom door. When I saw him, I yelled, raced to my father, and he was standing outside my balcony. My father came, jumped, and then he went. The next day, my father told me, “You need regulations.” My existence over those two years was characterized by conceit and vanity. especially when I returned to India. When I was being bullied by females in my American high school, all of a sudden I felt this equality.
Priyanka Chopra spoke about her marriage to Nick Jonas and their early interactions in the same interview. Priyanka said that she was drawn to Nick after their first encounter but refrained from going after him immediately away for a number of reasons, including the fact that she had just through a breakup. However, Nick decided to take things a step further and proclaim his love for Priyanka as she was leaving a Hollywood party. The actress described the experience as “such a Prince Charming moment.” Time seemed to have halted. He was also like so sexy. It resembled a cinematic meet-cute in every way. There was no fast motion.
