According to the health department, Maharashtra saw 154 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday. One additional patient also passed away from the infection in the state, which had seen nearly 300 recoveries.
The department reported in a bulletin that these additions brought the state's Covid-19 total to 81,67,947 and the toll to 1,48,541. 47 patients were found in Mumbai in the previous day. On Tuesday, the state reported 179 cases and two fatalities linked to the coronavirus.
According to the bulletin, Omicron XBB.1.16 is currently the dominant variant of Covid-19 and has been linked to 13 fatalities and 1,241 cases of infection in the state. According to the department, 297 patients who had the coronavirus infection recovered in the previous day, bringing their total to 80,17,983 and leaving the state with 1,423 active cases.
The state's coronavirus recovery rate was 98.16 percent. According to the agency, 8,70,66,639 coronavirus tests have now been performed across the state during the last 24 hours, totaling 7,874 tests.
