Nitish Rana, captain of KKR, gets fined $125,000 by the BCCI for violating the IPL's code of conduct against PBKS

In IPL 2023, Nitish Rana was the most recent skipper to get a punishment for an over-rate infraction. After the Kolkata Knight Riders captain's team maintained a sluggish over rate against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, his match earnings were reduced by 12 lakh rupees. It constitutes a breach of the IPL Code of Conduct.
“Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana was fined when his team played Punjab Kings in an Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata while maintaining a sluggish over-rate. Rana was fined Rs. 12 lakh since it was his team's first violation of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct regarding minimum over-rate infractions, according to an announcement from the league.
Rana, though, would be very happy with the manner his side played to defeat PBKS in a nail-biting last-ball match and advance in the competition. Additionally, he personally was instrumental in the outcome, returning as the leading scorer with 51 off 38 balls.
On a surface that was not exactly ideal for hitting, the left-hander who came in to bat at No. 3 on Monday blasted six fours and a six in his patient knock.
After Rana was fired, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh stepped forward to lead KKR to victory. Rinku managed an undefeated 21 off 10 balls while Russell scored a 42 off 23 balls. When two runs were needed off the final ball of the game to keep KKR in the playoff hunt, the left-hander smacked a boundary.
In the standings, Kolkata moved up to fifth position and is now just outside the top four, behind the fourth-place Rajasthan Royals in net run rate. Due to run rate, Punjab dropped to eighth.
Punjab reached their total of par thanks to Shikhar Dhawan's 57 off 47 balls. While wickets were falling frequently at the other end, Punjab's innings was supported by his nine fours and a six.
Varun Chakravarthy, a mysterious spinner, stifled the middle order for Punjab by collecting 3-26 in four overs. After pacemaker Harshit Rana took 2-32 to gain ground at the top, this happened.
Dhawan and Jitesh Sharma's 53 off 42-ball partnership for the fourth wicket was the only productive one for Punjab. Punjab was 139/7 in 17.2 overs after losing four more wickets in a span of 29 deliveries.
To give Punjab a chance, Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar combined for 40 runs off 16 balls.
With 38 off 2 balls, Jason Roy started Kolkata's response. Nitish Rana, the captain, took over with 51 off 38. Rana scored a six and six fours.
Russell entered at 115/3 in the 14th over and needed some time to get used to Rinku Singh. The goal was then reduced to six runs off the last over when Russell smacked three sixes in a 20-run Sam Curran over.
In order to go near to the finish line, Russell and Singh contributed 54 runs in only 26 balls, and Singh then successfully accomplished the task.
