In response to the Malappuram boat capsize, Rahul Gandhi urges party members to help in rescue efforts

Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, said he was “distraught” by the news of the deaths in the Malappuram boat capsize event in Kerala on Monday.
The Malappuram Superintendent of Police (SP) announced on Sunday night that there were now 18 fatalities associated with the Malappuram boat capsize tragedy. Disturbed to hear that a houseboat in Malappuram, Kerala, capsized. I send my sincere sympathies to everyone who has lost a loved one and send my best wishes for the quick recovery of anybody who has been hurt. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “I urge to Congress members to support the government in rescue efforts.
The Congress Party also expressed sorrow on the incident's fatalities.
“We are quite grieved to hear that a tourist boat in Malappuram, Kerala, capsized. We send our deepest sympathies to everyone who lost a loved one in this awful event. We also send our best wishes for a speedy recovery to everyone hurt, the party's Twitter account said.
On Sunday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed his condolences for the deaths caused by the Malappuram boat capsize disaster and he commanded that rescue efforts be properly coordinated.
“Deeply pained by the unfortunate death toll in the Malappuram Tanur boat disaster. The District administration has been instructed to efficiently coordinate the rescue efforts, which are being managed by Cabinet Ministers. Sending my deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and friends,” said CM Pinarayi Vijayan in a tweet.
A tourist boat capsized close to the Tanur shore during the event, which took place in Kerala's Malappuram district.
The rescue effort was launched when many cars arrived at the scene.
The procedure is being performed.
